This is a beautiful sofa reclaimed from the basement of a home in Menasha about 20 years ago, repaired and reupholstered to historical accuracy, under the guidance of expert upholsterer Mr. Roy Baumruk. The original moss stuffing was removed and cleaned before using it again under new cotton batting.
The down feather cushion was completely remade, a custom project that includes interior baffles to keep the feathers from shifting, by a company called FeatherTek in Lomira. The seat and the back rest of this sofa feature eight way hand tied springs. The carved feet were refinished and tung oiled.
This sofa has been a prize possession for me for 20 years. I’m sad to see it in the basement of my new condo after downsizing - there’s just no room. It’s time for someone else to love it.
