FOR SALE: 1949 Willys-Overland JEEPSTER convertible phaeton. Most car enthusiasts think of Willys-Overland as the maker of Jeeps, Station Wagons and Trucks and are unaware that they produced a convertible phaeton for three years, 1948-50. The number produced was a scant 19,000 plus and was a classy throw back inspired by vehicles from the 1930’s. An Arizona purchase in 2007 it was rust free, dent free and complete….a great candidate for restoration or modification. The one knock against all early Jeep vehicles was their unpowered engines so the decision was made to make this into a modern streetable vehicle with modern upgrades. Between 2007 and 2013 most of the major work was completed, Mustang II IFS w/ disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering, 1956 Corvette rearend, powder coated frame, new radiator, brake lines and fuel line plumbed, gas tank cleaned, electric fuel pump, new wire harness, powder coated GM 15” wheels, Coker bias WW, powder coated top frame & side curtain frames, powder coated seat frames w/ new burgundy vinyl seats, powder coated windshield frame, new windshield & wing window glass, SW gauges. I originally had a Chrysler Hemi and 727 Torqueflite setup in the car but that was remove and used in another project. Engine and transmission is buyers choice. Body is in super shape, in primer but needs paint. Again buyers choice. Clean Wisconsin title. A great project vehicle which will turn heads when completed. $6,900 OBO. Thanks for looking.
